Biography

Guanxiong Liu received his PhD (2012) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California – Riverside. He worked as a Research Scientist in a graphene technology startup company Bluestone Global Tech from 2012 to 2014. He returned to Professor Balandin’s Nano-Device Laboratory to continue research of nano-devices implemented with 2D materials. His research is focused on investigation of charge density wave effects in van der Waals materials and electronic noise in nano-devices. His expertise includes nano-fabrications, device characterization, and electronic applications. Dr. Liu published more than 25 technical papers, including in journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications, and Nano Letters. Among his honors are the Best Poster Awards at the Materials Research Society (MRS) Spring Meeting (2016) and SRC-DARPA FAME Review and Workshop (2017).
